LaSALLE COUNTY – LaSalle County 4-H’ers who participated in the July 2020 4-H Virtual Exhibition Show enjoyed participating in a recent drive-thru award distribution parade. Although 4-H members may have missed out on the traditional in-person 4-H Show and all of the treats offered at the fairgrounds, Extension staff offered a creative and fun experience.
Exhibitors were greeted at the LaSalle County Extension office by the 4-H Clover mascot who directed cars through the parade path, which was filled with balloons, fun sign messages and happy faces. Extension staff greeted exhibitors outside at an established awards station along with an outdoor photo spot. Ribbons, banners and special exhibitor gift bags were presented to all who participated in the 4-H Virtual Show and awards drive-thru.
Much pride and enjoyment was shared along with stories of the 4-H member’s first experience in a Virtual Show. Many LaSalle County exhibitors were promoted to the Illinois State 4-H Virtual Exhibition and are awaiting their ribbons and awards.
